*Street Vending-Park Street Prohibitions. Street vending on a street or parking lot within a public park shall be prohibited, unless the street vendor has applied for and has been granted a permit signed by the Parks and Recreation Director and Town Clerks Department. Street Abutting Parks. Street vending on a street abutting a public park shall be prohibited within 550 feet of a lawful established park concession. [Ord. 2009-19 § 2.]

Special Event Requirements and Information
A special event is a planned, publicly advertised event when there are either:
a. 100 or more people involved, or it is
b. A Town wide activity, or
c. The public is invited and therefore, an unknown amount of people are expected to attend.
What are considered Special Events? They are not limited but can include:
• Bicycle race
• Walk-A-Thon
• Concert
• Carnivals
• Art & Craft Shows
• Car Shows
• Tournament
• Holiday Events
• Any organized event with food/business vendors, game rides, tent structures, etc.
What do I need to do to hold a Special Event?
• Contact the Parks & Recreation Director (822-8894) regarding the event, date and time.
• A written letter of request is also required after initial contact with Director.
• Submit Permit no later than 60 days prior with all required documentation and necessary permits.
• Submit Insurance Coverage - $1,000,000 liability policy, naming the Town of Sahuarita as additional insured for date of event, with permit.
• Obtain written permission to hold the event through a special use permit process.
What options do I have for places to hold my Special Event?
• The Town Hall Plaza Courtyard
• Anamax Park
• North Santa Cruz Park
• Quail Creek-Veterans Municipal Park
• Sahuarita Lake Park Amphitheater
• Any other areas would need written permission of landowner and special event process still applies if located within Town limits.
What additional forms/activities are required and where do I go to get them?
• Parks and Recreation : Special use permit – fee applies regardless of affiliation; may obtain a layout of park from Parks & Recreation staff.
• Parks and Recreation/Police: If a beer permit is requested.
• Police Department: Sahuarita Police Department Notification Form. Traffic/Barricade Plan with police presence, if applicable-fees may apply.
• Public Works Department: Right of Way Permit, if applicable - fees may apply.
• Planning and Building: Site Plan or map of the site to be used, if applicable
• Planning and Building Code Enforcement regarding whether a temporary sign permit is necessary/allowable-fees may apply.
• Planning and Building Department: for tents or canopies
• If a tent has walls it will require a permit if it exceeds 400 sq ft (20x20)
• If a canopy has no walls it will require a permit if it exceeds 900 sq ft (20x40=800sf or 30x30=900sf)
• Town Clerk - Liquor license, if applicable - fees may apply.
• Town Clerk - Business license or Public Market license in the Town of Sahuarita, if applicable. ($60.00) New business license or Public Market ($20.00) one day permit.

General Parks Rules
Town Parks are a NON-SUPERVISED facilities. In case of a non-emergency problem please call: 520-445-7850 after hours call: 520-237-2510 please leave a detailed message if you do not get an answer and someone will return your call ASAP. Facility Injuries could result from misuse of playground equipment and other park facilities. Users are responsible for their own safety & actions. USE FACILITIES AT YOUR OWN RISK
• Beware of possible wild desert animals, hunting, trapping or feeding of wildlife prohibited.
• Littering prohibited. Properly dispose of refuse in trash containers (no glass containers allowed in Park)
• Motorized vehicles inside park areas prohibited. (Exemptions are TOS approved maintenance vehicles)
• Dogs must be restrained on leash except where dog run is designated. (12.15.070 A-F, of the Sahuarita Town Code.) (Dog leash not to exceed 8 feet & owners MUST clean up after own dog)
• Livestock & large animals i.e. horses, cattle, prohibited.
• Fires in designated barbecue areas only.
• Disturbing the peace of others inside or outside of the park prohibited.
• Alcohol consumption prohibited. (Permit required for special event exemption)
• Firearms prohibited on School District property including Anza Trail Park.
